23.11.2022you guys are so invested in the markets, you cant see that we have been on a sugar rush since 2008 and the entire economy is basically a govt funded sham, and real growth has been stagnant for decades as govt spending increases by trillions YoY
9:00 perfect example, inflation is at all time highs, so earnings(in real dollars) will go up because inflation is up. and we just came off of trillions in stimmy checks, and you guys are like "wow they aare posting ATHs"
Jose Joao Freitas
23.11.2022You guys were the sober ones on youtube. But please, Masterworks should be adequately checked if you don't want to feel dicks again

23.11.2022People only have themselves to blame if they left their crypto at an exchange after Celsius went bust. Make your trades on an exchange and then put it on a cold wallet.

23.11.2022Good episode. I hope this Block Fi/FTX situation doesn't negatively impact crypto content moving forward. I understand trying to do better but don't give up on crypto. (in general. im not here to pump anything.)

23.11.2022In order for it to be possible for people to be fooled by a genius, they had to first buy into the idea of putting money toward a creation which has zero intrinsic value. Though cryptocurrency may well have relevance in the future, we donât know which coins will matter, or why. Until/unless that question is answered, crypto will always be subject to people moving on from any coin, for anything else.

23.11.2022There are no victims in investing, only lazy DD. Anyone making investment decisions based solely on what all you "experts" recommend has only themselves to blame when it all goes to sh*t. Lambs to slaughter!

22.11.2022Farmland is not as boring as you state. There are plenty of risk. I recommend toning down the pitch

22.11.2022Appreciate the show as always gents but please stop conflating âcryptoâ with what happened at FTX. The whole debacle reinforces the point of self custody and permissionless networks over using opaque centralised companies to manage your money. You guys should get someone from the crypto space in to answer your questions, as youâve been saying for last two years there are things about it you still donât understand. Eric Vorhees or Chris Burniske both have deep understanding with a fairly neutral outlook and can explain things without technical jargon.

22.11.2022If you owned all the crypto in the World, and offered it to me for $25, I wouldn't take it.

22.11.2022I think if there were quotes on fart-powered airships that had gone up 1,000X in the past 10yrs, Batnick would buy it. If you described what crypto actually is to a group of people 10yrs ago, and asked for a "quote" on what they'd buy or sell it for, about 99.999% would say $0, and if you described it as a currency, EVERYONE would laugh! Crypto is a ponzi scheme that requires EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATES TO BE THE CONFIDENCE MAN! The ONLY thing crypto is good for is tax evasion, drugs, and currency in countries where the government has been overthrown.
If there was a blanket declaration that all crypto could NOT be converted back into dollars once bought, and could ONLY be used for transactions, all crypto would immediately go to almost nothing.

21.11.2022I love this podcast/youtube show, and I've read many of your books. I'm a big fan. So take this constructive criticism as it is meant, with respect and love.
You guys are almost there with crypto. You're saying all the things that will lead you where you need to be, like "I didn't really understand crypto." Don't fall for it. Crypto is literally nothing. It is not an asset that creates anything. It's like gold, if gold was always at risk of vaporizing at any moment, or if it could be removed from a vault without notice. If you talk to people that know a lot about software, they'll tell you: software is a terrible platform for money.
Paul Dacus
21.11.202237:25 _What's the point of blockchain, if not transparency!
–Michael Batnick
P.S. Virtually all crypto transaction are anonymous.

21.11.2022Michael must have lost tons of money on FTX to look like a WW1 shell shock vet during this episode. No contribution at all.

21.11.2022I've never understood why blockchain technology required the creation of tokens. Supposedly it's just a distributed database with transparency, right?

21.11.2022I love Mike, but seriously he has the attention span of a gnat.

21.11.2022I am irritated by all these calls to regulate crypto. Why should the US government regulate and protect crypto which is actively trying to undermine the global influence of the US dollar? The value of the US Dollar as the global reserve currency is of great strategic importance and should be patriotically protected at all costs.

21.11.2022Yâall talk a lot about âcryptoâ maybe do a deeper dive and start with understanding the bitcoin Maximalists. Theyâve been right this whole time. ETH and Vitalik are just as big of a scam as SBF; their unregistered security, premined poop coin just hasnât blown up yet.

20.11.2022Crypto is different than Bitcoin.
99.5% of crypto is junk.
Bitcoin is king.
Donât conflate the two.

20.11.2022you are no more to blame for blockfi than CNBC is for constant crypto propaganda and advertisements. Don't feel bad for a second. I feel bad for anyone who lost their money, but ultimately they are projecting their own anger onto you guys(who I am sure also lost money) and not taking accountability themselves.

20.11.2022When I was at SIG they were already starting to do crypto arb in 2016. SBF is a fraud. That arb space was already crowded by 2018. Most HF shops already beat him to the punch. Even if he was doing that arb strat, it's low pnl by then.

20.11.2022I was a bit surprised to hear no mention of MF Global, and didn't Wells Fargo get fined for similar about ten years ago? And Mt Gox? Nothing new under the sun. Is this not exactly why so many crypto voices routinely advise against keeping it in exchanges?

18.11.2022So this is an apology video. The In the money youtube channel guy actually looked at the company and asked them how they were making their money. FTX wouldn't tell him so he wouldn't advertise for them. Maybe you guys should have him on your show.

18.11.2022Ben, stating that he didnât know what crypto is and still doesnât to a large extent would be an issue I would point out to a friend! I havenât been able to bring myself to invest in crypto because of the same reasons! I too am surprised Bitcoin and ethereum have held up. But I would be cautious of when the billionaires head for the exits, the small investors will not stand a chance. The 2008 financial crisis is a great comparison. Good luck to all involved.
Arron
18.11.2022Ben, such a crypto noob. Read the Bitcoin whitepaper and focus on the explicit problem that Satoshi set out to solve. All this financialization and reliance on 3rd parties is the problem.
