Grace is only looking at the sales of the very first Gears of War which sold around 5 million copies but across the entire franchise it's sold over 22 million units and produced over a billion dollars in revenue. Those are the numbers someone like Netflix is looking at. Gears of War's success is also more limited than something like Borderlands because Borderlands isn't a first party exclusive like Gears which only releases on Microsoft platforms. As for Dave Batista he appeared as a skin in the last Gears of War game which is why people are suggesting him. It's not just a random fan casting. He's tied to the franchise. Arcane it's based off League of Legends which is a Free To Play game so there's no way for it to be a high selling game. League of Legends however has generated over a billion dollars in revenue though various means such as selling things like skins, characters, etc. We've also gotta remember that Netflix produced the Castlevania anime series which is an adult animated series which is no doubt what the Gears animated series is trying to achieve. Netflix has also had better luck with video game adaptions. People keep bringing up Halo but that was produced by Paramount not Netflix.
I donāt think thereās any chance Evan peters can win a Oscar for the Dahmer show. This is coming from someone that thought it was amazing show for the most part, and one of the best part was Evan peters performance. like there is no way the Oscars can give Dahmer the Recognition, I understand itās not glorifying him but at the same time it really is by giving something in his name a Oscar. even I think that would be in bad taste to do

GamePass is the Netflix of gaming. You pay $10 a month and gain access to hundreds of game. The Gears of War series is a Microsoft/Xbox exclusive game. Therefore all the Gears games are on GamePass and any new Gears game debuts on that service. You CAN also buy the game separately, GamePass isnāt the only way to play them.
A live action GoW sounds a little iffy. Just about every single character human or not is jacked, and i doubt they would cast 20+ jacked men and women that can also act. GoW has a pretty unique story, its not zombies or other humans, your fighting a whole underground species, and later in the series theres a whole new threat which is a good commentary on some real world events
A gears film will be big especially with the developers involved as they will avoid the issues Halo had. Also, after the Cyberpunk series I can see why Netflix picked up another game to turn into a series and a film.

I have some faith in the Gears IP and movie. It was a cool world and a pretty decent story that might be cool on the big screen. I cant speak to the numbers but I would say it had an above average fan base.
I'm delighted. Don't really play any games any more but these old game narratives are so much fun and deserve a shot at a TV mini series. Just make it top quality please Netflix this could be huge
